From Old to New: See Ramy Brook’s Transformation Using Upholstery

Upholstery is a fast and creative way to transform your store’s atmosphere without the hassle of buying new furniture. It allows you to quickly breathe new life into your store, enhancing the ambiance to match your brand and leaving a memorable impression on your customers.

Today we're taking a look at Circle Visual's recent project to upholster Ramy Brook’s New York. By choosing chic fabrics that echo the brand’s colors, and with consistent accents throughout, we were able to craft a space that is both cohesive and stylish.

About the customer: Ramy Brook

Ramy Brook is a women's fashion brand known for its versatile and stylish designer clothing. The brand was founded by Ramy Sharp in 2010 and has since become popular for specializing in chic and sophisticated clothing that blends modern trends with timeless elegance.

Ramy Brook has a flagship store located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The store offers a range of services including personal styling sessions, consignment options, and virtual shopping.

With this in mind, the shopping experience at Ramy Brook's flagship store is designed to be luxurious and customer-centric, with personalized services to enhance the overall experience.

Ramy Brook’s upholstery project with Circle Visual

Ramy Brook opened her Manhattan flagship with the help of Circle Visual, creating a space that exudes modern midcentury and feminine chic vibes. First we upholstered their existing furniture and then we added elegant curtain to create a cohesive look in their new space.

We matched the color of the velvet fabric for the project to Ramy Brook's orange business card, ensuring every element aligned with her brand identity.

Gold details, such as grommets, furniture legs, and curtain hangbars, were meticulously coordinated to enhance the showroom's sophisticated aesthetic.

The furniture was upholstered in luxurious velvet, while the curtains were crafted from high-quality linen.

Timeline

The entire project was completed in under two weeks, as part of a rush project — an optional service we offer if you’re under a tight deadline.

Normally, such projects have a four-week lead time, but in either case, the process is quicker if the necessary elements are readily available.

Why upholster your store’s furniture?

Timeless elegance

Upholstering allows you to choose from a wide range of luxurious fabrics and classic designs that can add a touch of refinement to any room. By selecting materials that fit your store’s aesthetic, you can ensure the upholstered furniture fits seamlessly into your environment.

Customization

Breathe new life into your store's furniture with bespoke upholstery tailored to your vision. Every detail, from fabric choice to design elements, can be customized to reflect your brand's personality and style, helping your space stand out and resonate with your customers.

Durability & comfort

High-quality upholstery materials are not only visually appealing but also durable and comfortable. Upholstering ensures your furniture withstands daily use while providing a comfortable experience for customers, maintaining its beauty and functionality over time.

Surprisingly fast turnarounds

Upholstering is often assumed to be labor-intensive, but it can be a quick and effective way to update your store's look if your existing furniture is in good condition. Simply changing the fabric can refresh your space, aligning it with your brand's aesthetic and enhancing the customer experience.

Affordable

The cost of reupholstering depends on the fabric choice, but options are available to suit various budgets. Circle Visual can provide a range of fabric selections, ensuring that you can choose materials that meet both your design preferences and financial considerations.

For most companies, their current furniture is already the right shape and proportion for the space, so upholstery is a smarter option than tracking down new furniture at the right intersection of size, style, and cost.

How does the upholstery process work?

Upholstery is the art of adding padding, springs, and fabric to furniture, transforming it into custom pieces that meet your aesthetic and functional needs. The process allows for endless customization, which is essential for crafting a space that creates the right kind of experience for your customers — like Ramy Brook's feminine chic vibe.

How do reupholstery projects work with Circle Visual?

Starting the upholstering process is straightforward. It typically opens with a consultation to assess your furniture and discuss your vision.

The process then kicks off when you select the materials that align with your design vision.

For Circle Visual projects, material selection is the main responsibility of the customer — everything else is handled by us in-house. We can use materials you provide or source options that are perfect for your upholstery application.

  1. The fabric on the furniture is removed, then the structure is assessed, and repaired as needed.

  2. Fabrics are measured, cut, and sewn with precision to ensure proper alignment and durability.

  3. Padding and support structures are adjusted for comfort if necessary.

  4. The fabric is applied smoothly over the frame and padding, secured meticulously.

  5. Finishing touches like buttons and decorative trims are added to complete the look.

Circle Visual can also create certain new furniture pieces for you from scratch.

Per your specifications, we can develop and create new fitting room benches, ottomans, freestanding folding screens, or even risers and pedestals.

If you're only looking for a temporary update, Circle Visual can create slipcovers that fit right over your existing fabric. This will instantly transform your furniture, giving it a completely new and sophisticated look.
