Store-Turned-Campground

Our client had a vision to turn their Carousel pop-up retail space into “Camp Bloomingdale’s,” a dream shopping environment for camping enthusiasts. As Bloomingdale’s’ CMO Frank Berman explained, "Camp carries a positive connotation for many, suggestive of memories of fun and adventure. We are excited to bring this nostalgia to life through our latest Carousel activation.” To set the scene, we created a roll-front tent facade that would draw shoppers into the exciting space.

Fabric Walls

Inside the store, our heavy natural canvas fabric covered the store's walls to evoke the nostalgic look and feel of a vintage tent. The textured fabric added warmth, hid any aspects of the existing store that might detract from the campground scene, and created the perfect backdrop for the store’s camping merchandise.

Ceiling Canopies

We created fabric panels to swoop across the ceiling, which carried the tent aesthetic throughout the store for a fun and fully immersive shopping environment. The swags brought visual continuity to the ceiling area, while the spaces between the panels kept the space feeling open and airy.

Camp Flag with Printed Patches

Outside the store, an eye-catching flag alerted customers that the space had been transformed into a special shopping experience. We custom printed and sewed the colorful flag, which featured faux patches reminiscent of camp or scouting patches.
